I have always been consumed by a love for horses.
When I was little, I would 'tack up' my rocking horse and ride him for hours through the cross country courses and dressage
arenas I created in my mind. I read book after book about breeds, disciplines, trainers, care, and technique, anything I could find.
I started riding at a very young age, and felt an immediate connection with the horses that were training me. Inspired by the things
I was learning, I started to make stick horses. They were primitive, usually made from a branch and my Pa's worn work gloves,
with shoelace reins. Each was assigned a different breed or purpose according to stick height, glove color, or rein style. I spent
hours outside, practicing my riding on foot. Later, after years of Dressage lessons every week after school, my Pa decided it was time that I was able to have a
horse of my own. One horse became two: a Lippizan/Thoroughbred Rajah and his Thoroughbred boss mare, Cora. These two personalities
continue to fuel my love of all things equine as well as serve as constant inspiration for the painted ponies.
My philosophy is that toys should encourage children to use both their minds and bodies, which
is the driving force behind this line of imaginative hobby horses. I have the privilege to work on each horse individually,
instilling into it all the love I have always had for the animals & sport. Thank you so much for stopping by, and I wish you many happy years of riding to come!
